Pot Hotspot, the brainrot skeleton with a phone for a head waiting for a wifi signal

Pot Hotspot

It only needs your hotspot for one message. Allegedly.

A skeleton sitting on the ground with a phone where its head should be, holding up a second phone that is still looking for a signal. It is the friend who asks for your hotspot. It said it only needed to open one message. That was some time ago.

Meet Pot Hotspot

Pot Hotspot is a skeleton sitting on the ground with a phone where its head should be, holding up a second phone that is still searching for a signal. It has been sitting there a while.

It is Indonesian, from March 2025, and it is the most pointed joke in this whole trend, because it is about something everybody has lived through. It is the friend who asks for your hotspot. The original narration is a warning: do not give this thing your hotspot. It will tell you it only needs to open one message. It will then download an entire game.

The skeleton is not decoration. It is what happens to you while you wait for it to finish.

Its original name is Hotspot Bro, or Hotspot Anomali. Pot Hotspot is the name the games gave it, and that is the one that stuck in English. Nobody has ever explained where the Pot came from.

“Share your hotspot. No service here.”

The story

Almost everything else in this trend is nonsense on purpose. This one means something, and that is why it travelled.

The clip went up in March 2025 and picked up ten million views inside a fortnight. It is narrated in Indonesian, in the flat register of a public safety announcement, and it is a warning about an anomaly. Do not give it your hotspot. It will claim it only wants to open one message. It will then quietly pull down a full game download while you watch your data disappear.

That is not a surreal joke. That is a documentary. Everyone who has ever handed over a hotspot at a bus stop, in a classroom or on a school trip understood it instantly, in any language, without needing the narration translated.

The design does the rest of the work. It is not a monster. It is a skeleton, slumped, knees up, shoulders down, holding a phone that has not connected yet. A face on the screen where a skull should be, with the eyes of somebody who has been refreshing the same page for hours. The tragedy is pointed at the wrong person, which is the joke: it looks like the victim.

It came from anomali, the Indonesian wave that ran alongside Italian brainrot without being it. Then the games took it, split it into several entries, gave it a Christmas hat and a pumpkin and at one point a burrito, and carried it a long way from a joke about mobile data.

We have drawn it exactly as it should be. Sitting down, waiting, one bar of signal away from a life.

“Just one message. I promise.”

Trivia

  • It is Indonesian, not Italian, and comes from the anomali wave.
  • Its real name is Hotspot Bro, or Hotspot Anomali. Pot Hotspot is what the games called it, and nobody has explained the Pot.
  • The original clip took ten million views in two weeks.
  • Nooo My Hotspot is a separate entry in the games, with its own tier, even though it is the same joke.
  • It is the only character here that is a warning rather than a creature. The narration is advice about who not to lend your data to.

Questions about Pot Hotspot

What is Pot Hotspot?

A skeleton sitting on the ground with a phone where its head should be, holding up another phone that is hunting for a signal. It has clearly been sitting there a very long time.

It is Indonesian, from March 2025, and it is the sharpest joke in this whole trend, because it is about something everybody has actually lived through. It is the friend who asks for your hotspot. The narration in the original video is a warning: do not give this thing your hotspot. It will say it only needs to open one message. It will then download an entire game.

That is it. A creature that exists purely to use up your data, drawn as a skeleton because that is what happens to you while you wait for it to finish.

It comes from anomali, Indonesia's own wave of these videos, where an ordinary object is given human parts and then described in a flat documentary voice. The original is usually called Hotspot Bro or Hotspot Anomali. Pot Hotspot is the name the games gave it, and it is the one that stuck in English. Nobody has explained where the Pot came from.

What is Nooo My Hotspot, and is it the same character?

Same idea, different entry, and this trips up a lot of people.

Nooo My Hotspot is the line. It is what the meme is built on: the sound of somebody realising their data is gone. In the games it has been turned into its own separate brainrot, with its own model, its own tier and its own price, sitting apart from Pot Hotspot on the list.

So if you are following a guide and the numbers do not match what you are seeing, check which of the two it is about. They are not interchangeable, and a very large share of people searching for one are actually looking at the other.

You will find it written every possible way: Nooo, Noo, No, Oh No, and any number of o's. There is no correct spelling. Somebody even made a Yes My Hotspot as a joke on it.

And yes, there is a Los version of that one too, because of course there is.

How do you get Pot Hotspot in Steal a Brainrot, and how rare is it?

The usual routes: wait for it to come round in the game, have the money saved when it does, or steal one from another player's base. Taking one is a legitimate way to get it and losing it the same way is part of the deal.

Before you follow any guide, check three things, because this character has more ways to go wrong than most.

One: is the guide about Pot Hotspot or about Nooo My Hotspot? They are separate entries with separate tiers.

Two: is it about the single one or the Los version? Also separate, also different.

Three: which game is it? These characters turn up in Steal a Brainrot, in Plants vs Brainrots, in a Fortnite map with a similar name, and in others. A method for one does nothing in another.

We are not printing a price, an earnings rate, a rarity tier, a spawn chance or an exist count. Those get rebalanced, every fan trading site lists something different, and any number here would be wrong within a month. The figure inside the game is the only real one.

The shop has nothing to do with any of them. We draw the characters, we do not run anybody's base.

What is Los Pot Hotspot?

The group version. Los is the Spanish plural the, and putting it on the front of a brainrot name to mean several of them is a running joke right across this trend. Los Tralaleritos does it to Tralalero Tralala, Los 67 to 67, Los Pot Hotspot to this one.

With this character the plural is funnier than usual, because the joke is already about one person draining your data. Several of them, sitting in a row, waiting on the same hotspot, is the nightmare version.

In the games it is a separate entry, normally higher up the list and harder to get than the single one. That is why guides disagree: half of them are about the group and half about the one.

There is a Los version of Nooo My Hotspot as well, which means that between them these two characters account for four separate things you can be looking for. Check the picture, not the name.

What are the Santa, pumpkin and rainbow versions of Pot Hotspot?

Two different things, and it is worth knowing which is which.

Mutations are finishes. Rainbow, gold, diamond, galaxy, lava and radioactive are the ones people search for most. The character underneath is the same skeleton. What changes is how it looks and what it earns while it sits in your base.

Seasonal skins are events. A Santa version turns up around Christmas, a pumpkin one around Halloween, and there has been a burrito one, which nobody has ever explained and which is all the better for it. These appear when the game runs the event and disappear afterwards, so whether you can get one at all depends entirely on the time of year you are asking.

Which of either exists right now, how rare each is and what each is worth are set by the developer and get rebalanced, so we are not listing values. The game is the only place those are current.

None of it exists outside the game. There is no canon Santa Hotspot in the original video. It is one sad skeleton with a phone, and everything else is the game having fun with it.

How do you draw Pot Hotspot?

Draw the pose before you draw anything else, because the pose is the whole joke. Slumped on the ground, knees up, shoulders forward, one arm holding a phone out to the side. Defeated. Get that silhouette right with a few rough lines and the rest is detail.

The body is a skeleton, and skeletons are easier than they look if you build them in this order: a curved spine down the middle, a ribcage as a set of curved bands either side of it, a wide flat pelvis at the bottom, then arms and legs as pairs of long thin bones with a lump at each joint. Do not try to get the bone count right. Nobody is checking.

The head is a phone, held upright where a skull would be. Draw it as a rounded rectangle with a thin border, and put a face on the screen: two tired eyes with heavy lids, deep shadows under them, and a mouth turned down at both corners. Wrinkles help. It should look like it has not slept.

The second phone is in one hand, turned to face the viewer, with a signal symbol on the screen: three curved arcs and a dot, the smallest at the bottom.

Leave the background empty. It is sitting on nothing, waiting for something that is not coming.

Use the picture at the top of this page to work from.

Is there a Pot Hotspot ritual?

People keep asking, and the reason you get contradictory answers is worth understanding.

Steal a Brainrot has had crafting and altar style mechanics where you place or combine particular brainrots to get another one. Which characters those apply to is decided by the developer and changes with updates. A ritual that genuinely worked when somebody filmed it can be switched off in the next patch, and the video stays online forever with the same confident title.

Ritual videos are also a genre of their own. A thumbnail promising a secret method gets clicks whether or not the method ever worked.

So the honest answer: open the game you are playing, in the version you are playing, and see whether a crafting route is offered for this character right now. Trust that over anything dated. If no route is showing, there is no ritual, and standing in the right spot will not summon one.

We do not run the game and cannot tell you what is in this week's build.

How to dress as Pot Hotspot

This is a costume you mostly act rather than build, which makes it one of the easiest here.

The body is a skeleton, and a printed skeleton suit does the whole job. Any cheap one works, because nobody is checking the ribs. If you are making it, black clothes with white bones taped or painted on the front is enough.

The head is the part worth effort. Cut a large phone shape from black card, taller than your face, with rounded corners and a thin light border. Cut a window in the screen where your face goes, or draw the face straight onto it and cut eye holes. The expression is the costume: heavy lids, dark shadows underneath, mouth turned down at both corners. It should look like it has been awake for three days.

Wear it on a headband or on a stick you hold in front of your face.

In one hand, a second phone. A rectangle of card with a signal symbol drawn on the screen: three curved arcs above a dot, drawn faintly, as if it is trying.

Then the pose, which is most of it. Sit on the floor. Knees up, shoulders forward, arm held out to the side with the phone up, hunting for a bar. Stay there. Everybody who knows the character will understand within a second, and everybody who does not will just think you are at a party.

Without the build, a character tee and one phone held above your head does it.
