Strawberry Elephant
Hidden in plain sight since 2007.
An elephant with the skin of a strawberry. Same body, same trunk, same tusks, but the hide is deep red and covered in seeds, and a crown of green strawberry leaves sits over the head and ears. He is the oldest character on this site by a wide margin. The picture goes back to a 2007 photo editing contest, where the brief was to hide an elephant. He has been found since.

Questions about Strawberry Elephant
What is Strawberry Elephant?
Strawberry Elephant is an elephant with the skin of a strawberry: deep red, covered in pale seeds, with a crown of green leaves over the head and ears. Everything else about the animal is left alone, which is why it reads as a photograph rather than a cartoon.
It is far older than the rest of the characters on this site. The image comes from a photo editing contest in July 2007, where entrants were asked to hide an elephant, and the winning entry hid one in a strawberry field by giving it the texture of the fruit.
It spread slowly. A version with Arabic text, meaning strawberry morning, circulated from 2020, the picture went viral on social media in 2021, and short video slideshows made it famous again in 2023. Only after all that did it turn up in the brainrot games as a unit people chase.
So the usual order is reversed here. Most of these characters were invented as memes and then put into games. This one was a competition entry that became a meme eighteen years later.
How do you get Strawberry Elephant in Steal a Brainrot, and how much does he make?
Strawberry Elephant comes the same ways the rest of them do: wait for him to come round in the game, have the money saved when he does, or take one from another player's base. Stealing is a legitimate route, and losing him the same way is part of the deal.
We do not print earnings rates, prices, rarity tiers or spawn chances anywhere on this site. Those values get rebalanced, every guide written before a change is wrong afterwards, every guide written after it will be wrong eventually, and both look equally confident. The number inside the game you are playing is the only real one.
The same goes for the ritual questions and for whether he is available at all this week. Rosters and methods are decided by whoever is updating the game, not by the character.
He also turns up in other brainrot games and in player made Fortnite islands. Those are separate projects with their own rules, and a method for one does nothing in another.
What are the OG, rainbow, yin yang and Los Strawberry Elephant versions?
Strawberry Elephant has one original picture and a pile of names stuck on top of it by the games.
OG, rainbow, yin yang and the rest are labels the games use for versions of the same character: special editions, colour variants and mutations applied on top of the base unit. They are not separate characters and they do not come from the original image, which has no colour variants at all.
Los Strawberry Elephant is the group version of the joke, the same pattern as Los Tralaleritos: put Los in front and you get a plural, gang style take on a character that was singular to begin with.
We do not list which variants exist, what they do or what they are worth. Those change with the game, sometimes within a week, and a page that prints them is wrong shortly afterwards. The game you are playing is the only place that knows.
How do you draw Strawberry Elephant?
Strawberry Elephant is an ordinary elephant with one unusual surface, so draw the elephant first and resist starting with the fruit.
Get the silhouette right: heavy body, column legs, big ears sitting flat against the head, trunk hanging and curling slightly at the tip, two short tusks. Keep the proportions honest. The joke only lands if the animal is believable.
Then the skin. Base it in a strong red, deeper in the shadows under the belly and behind the legs. Add the seeds as small pale yellow ovals set in shallow dimples, in rows that follow the curve of the body rather than sitting flat on it. Each seed gets a tiny dark crescent under it. That crescent is what makes it look pressed into the skin instead of painted on.
Leave the tusks white and the toenails pale, so there is something that is not red.
Finish with the crown: four or five green leaves over the top of the head, pointed and slightly curled, in a yellowish green. Draw them overlapping and uneven. Neat leaves look like a hat.
Is Strawberry Elephant real, and when was it made?
Strawberry Elephant is not a real animal and never was. It is a photo edit, and a very old one.
It was made in July 2007 for a photo editing contest whose brief was to hide an elephant. The winning entry put an elephant in a strawberry field and gave its skin the seeded red texture of the fruit, so the animal disappears into the background if you are not looking properly. That is the whole idea, and it is why the picture is photoreal rather than drawn.
It is also not AI. In 2007 this was done by hand in editing software, years before image generators existed, which is worth saying because the question now comes up about every photoreal animal on the internet.
What is true is that the picture spent nearly fifteen years as an anonymous image before the internet decided it was famous.
What is the Strawberry Elephant song?
Strawberry Elephant does not have a song of his own. What people mean is the sound that carried the picture in 2023, when short video slideshows paired it with a slow, sad track and the format spread faster than the image had in the previous decade.
That pairing is why the character reads as melancholy rather than funny to a lot of people. The picture is a joke about hiding an elephant. The video format turned it into something wistful, and for most of the audience the video came first.
Since then the games have added their own sounds and edits, which is why searches for a Strawberry Elephant song return several unrelated tracks. There is no official one, and we do not reproduce lyrics here.
How to dress as Strawberry Elephant
Body: red from neck to ankle. A red hoodie and red trousers, or a red sheet worn as a tunic. Then add seeds, and this is the whole costume: small pale yellow ovals in rows, drawn on with fabric pen, or cut from felt and glued. Space them evenly and tilt them all the same way. A plain red outfit reads as nothing. A seeded one reads instantly.
Head: a grey or red hood. If you want the elephant to read, add two large ears cut from card, low on the sides, and a trunk made from a rolled towel or a length of grey tubing fixed at the nose and hanging down.
Crown: four or five big green leaves cut from card or felt, fixed around the top of the hood so they flop outward. Use a green that is slightly yellow rather than dark. Strawberry leaves are not holly.
Tusks: two short white cones either side of the trunk, taped inside the hood edge.
Feet: grey or red, it does not matter. Nobody looks at the feet.
Without the build, a character tee and a leaf crown is enough for people to get it.
