Tung Tung Tung Sahur character artwork, a wooden figure holding a bat

Tung Tung Tung Sahur

Wooden. Punctual. Impossible to ignore.

A log with legs, a bat in one hand, and no concept of an inappropriate hour. He is the sound that gets you out of bed before dawn, and he does not consider that rude. You get called three times. What happens after that is on you.

Meet Tung Tung Tung Sahur

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is a wooden figure who walks on two legs, carries a bat, and arrives when nobody asked him to. The name is a sound and a meal: tung tung tung is the knock of a kentongan, the hollow wooden drum used across Indonesia to wake a neighbourhood, and sahur is the meal eaten before dawn during Ramadan. Put together, the name is the noise that gets you up.

He turned up on TikTok in early 2025 and spread fast, which is why most people meet him inside the Italian brainrot pile. He is not Italian. He is Indonesian, from a separate wave of AI characters, and he ended up filed under the Italian label by association rather than by origin.

The story

The kentongan is a real object with a real job. It is a length of bamboo or hardwood, hollowed out and slit down one side, and when you strike it the sound carries further than a voice. Villages across Indonesia have used them for centuries to call people together, to warn of fire, and during Ramadan to wake everyone for sahur, the meal before the fast begins.

Somebody looked at that and gave it legs.

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is what the drum would be if it got tired of waiting to be hit and came to find you instead. The original clip is short and it is not a joke about breakfast. It says he is an anomaly that appears at sahur, and that if you are called three times and do not answer, he stops calling and starts walking.

Nothing after that is settled. Fans have given him enemies, allies, a height and a backstory, and none of it agrees with anything else, because there is no studio and no character sheet. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

What we can tell you is what he looks like when we draw him: a smooth wooden body, a face far too pleased with itself for this hour, and a bat held rather casually. Whether that is a threat or a prop is left to you, at three in the morning, listening.

“You were called three times.”

Trivia

  • Tung tung tung is not a word in any language. It is the sound of the drum, which is why the spelling travels by ear and never settles.
  • The kentongan is real: a hollowed wooden or bamboo slit drum used across Indonesia to call people together, warn of fire, and wake a neighbourhood.
  • Sahur is the meal eaten before dawn during Ramadan. It is the meal the drum wakes you for.
  • He is one of four brainrot characters described as the best known almost everywhere you look, alongside the shark, the crocodile and the ballerina.
  • No official height exists. The numbers online run from about a metre to seven feet, and none of them came from the original video.

Questions about Tung Tung Tung Sahur

Was Tung Tung Tung Sahur removed from Steal a Brainrot, and is he back?

Yes, he has been taken out of the game, and yes, he has been put back. More than once. That is the reason you keep finding two confident answers that contradict each other, and both of them were true at some point.

This is unusual. Brainrots normally leave a game because the people running it rebalanced something. That is not what happened here. Both times, the reason given was a claim over the rights to the character itself, made by people who say they control it. The game took him out rather than argue, and he returned later when the situation changed.

So the practical answer is that nothing you read is reliable for long, including this. Open the game you are playing, in the version you are playing, and look. A video from three months ago is not evidence of anything, whichever way it goes, and the same applies to fan wikis, which are often a patch or two behind.

Since people ask us next: no, this does not make him off limits, and it does not make him anybody's property in a settled sense. Nobody has established ownership of these characters in a way that is finished rather than argued. Our position is the same as it is everywhere on this site. The drawing is ours, the character is not, we do not claim otherwise, and if somebody establishes rights and asks us to stop, we will take the design down rather than fight about it.

How tall is Tung Tung Tung Sahur?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has no official height or weight, and neither does any other brainrot character. He began as a single AI-generated clip that never gave a size, and the figures you find, about a metre, six foot four, six foot seven, two point one metres, seven feet, along with the weights that circulate beside them, were all added later by fans filling in wiki templates or measuring a game model. They disagree with each other, which is the clearest sign that none of them is official. He is drawn roughly human-scaled, upright, holding a bat, and the real object he is based on varies in size by region.

Who are the other Tung Tung Tung Sahur characters?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is usually the name people type when they want the whole cast rather than one character, which is why this question comes up more than any other. He belongs to the Italian brainrot group, alongside Tralalero Tralala, Ballerina Cappuccina, Bombardino Crocodilo and Brr Brr Patapim. There is no fixed roster and no list that stays complete, because new ones appear constantly, and that is the point of the format rather than a gap in it.

What does Tung Tung Tung Sahur's face look like?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur's face is carved into the front of the drum: two round eyes, a wide open mouth and no nose, because a kentongan has none of those to begin with. The open mouth lines up with the slit that makes the sound, which is probably not a coincidence. Almost everything else about him is drawn differently from one version to the next, but the face stays the same, and it is the part people copy first.

What is Tung Tung Tung Sahur supposed to be?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is a kentongan, a hollow wooden slit drum used across Indonesia, drawn with a face, arms and legs. That is why he looks like a log. He is one. The drum is struck to call a neighbourhood together, to warn of fire, and during Ramadan to wake people for sahur. Most drawings give him a bat as well, which is not part of the real object.

What is Tung Tung Tung Sahur's personality?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has no official personality, because none of these characters have a canon. The only description that comes from the original video is its caption: an anomaly that turns up at sahur, and if you are called three times without answering, it comes to your house. That is all of it. The temper, the loyalties and the catchphrases were added later by people making animations, and two accounts will hand you two different characters.

What powers does Tung Tung Tung Sahur have?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has no official powers. Nothing in the original video gives him an ability, and the power levels you find come from fan tier lists and who-would-win videos, which invent them and then disagree with each other. The Roblox game does attach numbers to him, but those are rarity and income values that describe the game economy rather than the character, and they change whenever the game is updated.

Is Tung Tung Tung Sahur in Fortnite?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has an official Fortnite outfit, licensed to Epic Games by the people who manage the character's rights, so this one is not a fan project. That is unusual: most of what you find under these names in Fortnite is player-made, built on Creative islands or drawn as skin concepts that never existed in the shop. His did. Availability comes and goes the way everything in that shop does, so the shop itself is the only place worth checking.

Is Tung Tung Tung Sahur Italian?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is not Italian. His name is Indonesian: tung tung tung is the knock of a kentongan drum, and sahur is the meal eaten before dawn during Ramadan. He gets filed under Italian brainrot because that label describes a style rather than a nationality, and because he arrived at the same moment as the Italian characters and looked like he belonged with them. The style is Italian. He is not.

Who is Tung Tung Tung Sahur's enemy?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has no official enemy, because there is no canon for him to have one in. The only story that comes from the original video is the caption, and no enemy appears in it. Brr Brr Patapim and Bombardino Crocodilo are the two most commonly named opponents, both of them out of fan-made battle animations rather than anything official. Other relationships are contested in the same way, which is why the answer changes depending on which site you land on.

Why is Tung Tung Tung Sahur called Triple T?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is called Triple T because his name has three tungs in it and people got tired of typing them. The nickname has stuck hard enough that it now outruns the full name in places. Worth noting what survived: the part people kept is the part that is not a word, and the part they dropped, sahur, is the part that actually means something.

What does the name Tung Tung Tung Sahur mean?

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is a sound followed by a meal. Tung tung tung is the knock of a kentongan, the hollow wooden drum struck across Indonesia to wake a neighbourhood, and sahur is the meal eaten before dawn during Ramadan. So the name means, roughly, the drumming that wakes you for sahur. The character is that drum with legs, a face and a bat.

Latest from Tung Tung Tung Sahur

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has been asked if he is coming back

Tung Tung Tung Sahur has been asked if he is coming back

Tung Tung Tung Sahur keeps being asked whether he is coming back, which has been a strange week, because as far as he is aware he never went anywhere. He has been exactly where he always is, at the hour he always keeps, waiting for somebody not to answer.

People ask it kindly, which is the part that unsettles him. They ask the way you ask after someone who has had a difficult year. He has started answering that he is fine, that he is right here, and that the door has been open the whole time, and this reassures nobody at all.

He has decided the question says more about the askers than about him. Somewhere a list got shorter, and everybody assumed it was a funeral. So the answer, for anybody still asking, is that he cannot come back from somewhere he never left.

How to dress as Tung Tung Tung Sahur

Tung Tung Tung Sahur is one of the cheapest brainrot costumes to build, because the whole character is one shape: a smooth wooden cylinder with a face on it.

Start with the body. A tall cardboard tube, a rolled sheet of thick card, or even a laundry basket turned upright will do, covered in brown paper or painted in two tones so the grain reads from a distance. Keep it light and keep the bottom open, because you have to walk in it.

The face decides whether people recognise you. Big round eyes, thick eyebrows and a wide closed-mouth smile, painted on or cut from card and glued. Put it high, near the top of the tube, not in the middle.

Arms and legs stay bare or in brown tights, and a plain brown tee underneath stops the whole thing shifting.

The bat is foam or plastic, carried loosely in one hand. Do not make it heavy, you will be holding it all evening.

If you want the costume without the cardboard, a character tee with brown trousers reads instantly to anyone who knows him, and you can sit down in it.
